VLC is a good player for the computer, but if you want PERFECT playback of ALL your HD video over HDMI with AC3 and DTS look no further than Western Digital's "WD TV Live" hardware.

VLC plays all my vid' with a annoying purple color..
A developer from VLC team wrote on their own forum, in june 2009, that :
"This is a known issue and will be addressed in future pre-releases of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. This isn't a FFMPEG-related problem (EyeTV shows it, too), but due to the color type used by our OpenGL vout."
Well, we're in november, and nothing new for us...

VLC Media Player Commentary64-bit 1.0.2 but no 64-bit 1.0.3? - Version: 1.0.3, 11/1/2009 06:49PM PST

There appears to be no 64-bit version of 1.0.3, only Universal Binary, 32-bit Intel and PowerPC packages but no 64-bit version in their list.

I kept the Intel version 1.0.3 because it differed from the UB version by about 40MB.

I'm not 'town crying' like Liberty4all about there being no 64-bit version and I would definitely recommend VLC, but I find it odd that the last version had a 64-bit rendition and there is none now.

VLC Media Player Troubleshooting ReportVLC 1.0.2 breaks Apple Remote support? - Version: 1.0.2, 9/28/2009 10:05PM PST

Since upgrading to 1.0.2 (64-bit), pressing any button on the Apple Remote while watching a movie in VLC now launches iTunes 9 in the background. Anyone else experience this? (BTW, does anyone know how to make VLC *skip* back and forward with Apple Remote's Back and Forward buttons instead of moving to the previous/next playlist item?)

Great program, but this version does not work with HandBrake for ripping DVD's.
I downgraded to version 1.01 and all is well again!
