Product Description:

InterMapper is a network monitoring and alerting application. It watches the servers, routers, WAN links, UPS's, and other equipment on your network using pings, SNMP, and various server probes. It notifies the network administrator when problems occur using audible alerts, e-mail, pages, or running scripts. InterMapper has been shipping as a Classic MacOS application since 1996. We're now releasing this version for testers.

What's new in this version:

  • Option-clicking on the Poll Interval popup gives you access to 1, 5, and 10 second poll intervals.
  • Fixed bug when changing probe type from Multicast Listener to anything else. (ASSERT#MACH-O#3.6b1#aCollab->GetProviderCount() == 0#source/server/CNetCollaborator.cp#117)
  • Multicast Listener probe type now works when you don't specify a multicast address.
  • Fixed bug in Multicast Listener probe where packets from other sockets triggered a valid response.
  • Clicking the "Sample" link in the About box launches Terminal.app but doesn't bring it to the front.
  • 9pt bold geneva text is now drawn using QuickDraw, rather than Quartz; the anti-aliasing affected the font metrics.
  • Fixed a crashing bug when reloading an event log table (accessing a disposed object).
  • Chart log files now have their own description text in the Preference dialog's Log file pane.
  • Removed the "Other.." choice from the popup menu of Text Editor's displayed in the Log File dialog. (It didn't do anything).
  • When the Preferences dialog is invoked to display the "Remote Users" pane, you now go to the right pane.
  • InterMapper now scrolls to the end of the charts when loading them.
  • Only redraw a portion of a strip chart legend when you toggle the visibility of an item.
  • Changed the URL for the Buy Now link in the demo reminder window.
  • Fixed a bug which caused the links to display the extra ifGroup popup display text for SNMPv1 devices.

if you want a grip on your net without the hassle - just try - it's superb indeed like other posters mentioned... even an old machine will do - but is nice on faster iron too :-) strong recomendation on my part ... and if you compare the price to other tools and the ease of use - go and get it, put it on your powerbook - go into any net - plugin in and see - five stars and ps: the support is second to none - thank You guys for making my life as a network admin a lot easier (and since so many years reliable).

Still great and all the network Unix/Windows guys depend on it for notification of problems. Love how easy it is to configure on the Mac! Emails cell phones to key people for their servers, emails others for status updates, web sites produced are visited by many and even dials out to cell phones when the Internet goes down (or our connection to it)! All handled easily by an old iMac.

-- a must for any network admin. Dartware is constantly enhancing and improving the app. Can't commment on support, because I've never needed it. Nice work!
