So I sent a message to support@newsgator.com and I got this response:

All paid versions of NetNewsWire and FeedDemon expired in December of 2007. Old license keys will not work for disabling ads, you will have to purchase a new one.

So first I'm miffed because I paid for NNW and it became freeware. Now it becomes pay ware and they tell me my registration is now no good. Such a deal. I may start using Vienna again.

NetNewsWire CommentarySeems these folks don't know what they want - Version: 3.1.7, 10/31/2009 08:12PM PST

The last version I downloaded was after they changed from a paid version at $29.95 to a free version which is what I was using since I didn't feel like paying for it. Now it's back to what it was before only they've dropped the price for the paid version to $14.95. To me this is not a very professional way to handle a business. I don't mind them charging a fee or using adds to help defray development costs but this going back and forth is very confusing. It also makes me wonder if these folks will soon be out of business due to their confusing business plan, if they even have one. The only good thing is the free version I have works just fine. Is there anything spectacular the new version does that I might want or should I just stick with what works?

NetNewsWire CommentaryEmbedded YouTubes crash NNW! - Version: 3.2.1, 9/29/2009 01:27AM PST

This version doesn't work with Snow Leopard and embedded YouTube-flicks as is gives me a spinning ball of death when I click on the play button. This happens in 10.6.1 but not in 10.5.8 with the latest Adobe Flash Player installed.
