I don't even know what to say i've been using limewire for at least 3 years and i was until recently using version 4.18.2 until it stopped connecting to the network.
Finally today i decided to get the current version and omg is it bad it's like they got a team together to find and hunt down the worst aspects of all downloading software.
Firstly they have the load time that was always not to good but on top of that they have taken out about half the features ad hidden the rest. I'm sorry but if i want to change what files I'm sharing why would i go to the completely unlabelled icon on the top bar instead of preferences where it always has been and is in just about every sharing application that i can think of. Also to add insult to injury they still technically still have it in preferences not as an option or a link to the right place but as a diagram to show you where it is now.
This is of course but one example there are dozens and i wont bore you.

LimeWire ReviewStill damned confusing - Version: 5.2.13, 8/19/2009 07:38AM PST

Somehow, the whole Limewire experience is flawed. The user interface is all ass-backwards. I'm not a software engineer so I cannot put into words why I don't like it and how it should be improved, but I don't and it should. The developers should start over.

The VersionTracker page should also contain a link to the latest PPC version.

Limewire should also not prevent me from changing the name. I prefer all my apps to contain the version number in their names. Limewire does not permit me to change its name to "Limewire 5.2.13"

And how strange. When I go to the developer's site to download a copy of the last PPC-compatible verson, 4.18.8 according to them, the installer that arrives on my machine, although it indeed is version 4.18.8, is titled "Limewire 5"

It also gets uppity when I try to move it to where I want it to live

I also object that the only English version available is American English. There are many other English-speakers who do not like American English. Indeed, about a quarter of the world speaks non-American English! (OK small point, I know.)

No offline help. Annoying.

But most of all, I am extremely annoyed at being constantly nagged to upgrade to the paid version.

This app is gone!

LimeWire has been used outside of the goal when the first exit. However, when developed. Shared files that did not exist between the Client to Client Client to Server / Server to Client is a powerful antivirus software and check if it was. Unlike the much more user will not be disturbed so that no user traffic, creating a perfect that. Latest version of Microsoft as well, but in this company to develop an antivirus module for LimeWire is integrated with and able to self-update is not, however, are not indispensable to the candidates will remain. Not true?

Don't understand the complaints, I've been using it for years, it was crappy at the beginning, I agree. This is no longer true though.
This 5. versions are very good, It's very different from 4 versions, it may take sometime to adapt, people don't like changes and complain, maybe that's the case.

LimeWire CommentaryPlease don't.... - Version: 5.2, 5/21/2009 05:30AM PST

Beto Boton
Up to version 4, most filters were easy to place and combine, (example: programs , OS X or what's new). Verson 5 removes functionality, which is probably something of a "new trend" that I don't get it! Woww following this "fashion" Limewire ver. 6 or 7 will be just a lime ( no wire - stripped for the version). I bought it and went back to ver 4...

I gave up on Limewire after 5.x; talk about breaking something that wasn't broke. Have used Frostwire ever since and am not looking back. Try it, you'll like it!
