CowicideContinued support? Microsoft bought out VPC from Connectix and KILLED it. Why wasn't VPC upgraded to run on Intel machines and compete (key word here) with Parallels, etc.? Connectix would have very possibly made VPC the BEST version for Intel machines with all the experience under their belt. But, what happened after MS bought them out? After an update or two (can't remember which now) VPC started causing kernel panics for many people (it's one of the only ones on the Mac platform that I've ever experienced). Then another update I think to fix that, etc. Then VPC now gets (probably) this one last patch for a vulnerability and VPC has given up the ghost... for good! No MORE VPC... GONE... forever... and you THANK them for "continued support"?
MS killed VPC and competition. It's an old habit with them and a very un-American, anti-competitive habit at that. While I have to admit I'm a bit surprised they even bothered to issue this security patch... sorry, I'm not going to sit here and thank MS for screwing us over with anti-competitive business practices. This patch was the very, very LEAST they could do and that's what we got... the least they can do.
<rant over> Goodbye VPC ...

bob_gI've used Virtual PC off and on for a few years to run Visio. I've used it on a G4, but for the past few years I use it on my G5.
Visio's a pretty heavy duty program and I've never had a problem running it with Virtual PC. Sure it's a little slow, but not enough to frustrate the average person. It takes 12 seconds for me to start Virtual PC (I timed it today). Thats much faster than I could boot a PC. It starts this fast because you can save the state of your "PC" when you shut-down and avoid the boot process.
I have a Macbook now (Dual Core) and could use bootcamp on it, but why take up the space on the HD for just one application when Virtual PC works fine on the G5.
