Spongefork is fantastic. - Version: 3.3.3, 6/22/2008 05:09AM PST

Too often, wonderful apps like this get abandoned & overlooked. In sound design, there is an unavoidable tension between the uniqueness of the tool (vs. sounding like everybody else in laptop land), and the steepness of that tool's Learning Curve. Spongefork has always balanced originality & accessibility. Easy to learn, yet thick with creative possibilities. Kudos to Ryan Francesconi & Phil Burk for keeping it current.

This application has a very clean, carefully designed appearance and packs a LOT of details neatly into its interface. Should appear more "Mac-ish"? It appears how it needs to appear to do what it needs to do for those who need to use it. And if you can't figure it what it is supposed to do and how it works from the interface, it's probably not for you. But don't blame the application for that. ;)

A refreshingly audacious experimental audio app, much easier to get into than say, that ERGONOMIC NIGHTMARE Drool String Ukelele. I wish this program had skins and had bolder graphics...Other than that, awesome.
Well, I'm new...

...to sound synthesis and, though I agree that it could be a little more Mac-ish in style, I reckon this is a groovy little programme.
Horrid interface

Look and feel of a nasty PC port - very un-Mac-like. Text is nasty and not antialiased. No menu commands for common features - instead have to figure out icons with help of help tags. Yuck. Doesn't open MP3 files - is that too much to expect? Anyway, so put off by interface didn't bother to explore much further. Mac audio apps should look and feel superb - check out the pros.
I will need to experiment some with this. It is already a bit sluggish when accessing the preferences and presets (spinning beachball) and I'm running a G4 800 with over a gig of RAM.
