Just to clarify - for licensed users of older versions of Fetch, the upgrade to Fetch 5.5.1 is only $10, not $29. ($29 is the price for completely new licenses.)

We have updated the product description here on VersionTracker to make this clearer.

I listed the main improvements in Fetch 5 over Fetch 4 in my direct reply to Sean's comment. We have been careful not to remove functionality while adding new features, but you can always try the Fetch upgrade for free for 15 days and make sure you like it and think it's worth upgrading. If you have any questions, problems, or feedback about the new version, just contact our support and we'll help out.

I've been using Fetch for like 10 years already. I actually don't really have any issues with Fetch except that the occasional recipient's ftp doesn't like it, but in that event, I just bust out Cyberduck. No probs, but yeah, Fetch is my preferred program. Anyhow, I saw this new version of Fetch 5.51 on versiontracker so I took a look, just out of interest. I'm not really looking to replace the version, I have as it does what I want anyway, but when I saw that it now cost's $30, you guys lost me. No thanks. My current version is doing the job and I really don't want to take the risk of losing functionality on a newer version anyway. How many times has that happened that a developer removes functionality on a new version and you wish, you kept the old. By the way, I'm still on version 4.03 I just checked and there sure seems like there's been quite a few updates since 4.03, so tell me, what am I missing? Is there a truly compelling reason for me to bust out $30?...

Fetch CommentarySorry Fetch, no upgrade this time - Version: 5.5.1, 7/10/2009 04:55PM PST

Used the product for years. Love the dog icon but sorry, no deal this time. I switched to Transmit which has a vastly superior GUI and didn't fail to upload very large files when Fetch kept taking a dump. Transmit is IMHO a vastly superior product, at least for my needs.
