most versitile, and in my opinion the best, multimedia authoring system around. Its crossplatform ability (mac, pc, unix, linux) is unmatched, not requiring platform specific tweaking of other systems. Learning curve is faster than other authoring systems and very fast if you're experienced in hypertalk systems like Hypercard. The Metatalk language is very very powerful and the standalones it creates are very fast application. Great for rapid application prototyping, unique application development, multimedia program development, as well as internet cgi development. Metacard also is totally intenet capable with html import/export, imbeded pcitures in text, and internet file transfer/protocalls built in.The price is actually better than other professional systems since the $999 price gets you authoring and standalone systems for all platforms. The support, bug fixing, and updating are second to none in the software field. You can wait years for bugs to be fixed in many authoring systems, but with Metacard, bugs are sometimes fixed with in the day! Truely amazing support!

platform of your choice, let users run it on the platform of their choice. What could be better? Rapid development of fast-executing programs with a very high level scripting language. Easy user interface development.

amazing tool! It's fast, it's powerful, and it's fully cross-platform. Best of all, it's built on the English-like scripting language of HyperCard, but with hundreds of additions and improvements. I have used MetaCard as a rapid application development tool for several commercial applications. Each time I use it, I have a greater appreciation for its powerful, elegant simplicity.
