Product Description:

IPNetSentry is a simple and intelligent security application which protects your Macintosh from outside Internet intruders. This is particularly important for Macintosh users who have cable modem, DSL, or another high-speed Internet service where connections can be maintained and left unattended for hours (or days) at a time.Unlike most other Internet security products, IPNetSentry does not erect barriers for the safe use of your Internet connection. There is no need to "punch holes" in a firewall for specific applications you may wish to run. Instead, IPNetSentry silently and intelligently watches for suspicious behavior, and when triggered, invokes a solid filter which completely bans the potential intruder from your Macintosh

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS Classic

IPNetSentry CommentarySo what's new with 1.4a? - Version: 1.4a, 3/9/2004 11:37AM PST

welcome
Well, I can't find any info about what's new with this release. Not even at SusWorks' own website!
I'm not installing an upgrade without knowing what it does. So I'll wait...

IPNetSentry Reviewworth it, even if you only have a dial-up PPP connection - Version: 1.3.9, 9/23/2003 12:19AM PST

wighta
This sort of protection is plainly needed with OS X and/or if you have a 'constant on' connection to the Internet such as a cable modem or DSL. But is it really needed if you have only Classic, such as Mac OS 9.2.2, installed on your system and you also use only an intermittent dial-up modem connection ? Well, after 2 weeks of trying out IPNetSentry.PPC, I finally got an alert that someone was attempting to intrude into my system. That convinced me to splash ot the $40.00 which is more than a day's pay for me. I am online for 15-25 hours a week. Plus I am impressed that Sustworks lives in the real world where the majority of Mac users are not yet using OS X, and is still releasing updates for Classic users. Before I registered, I had filed a bug report and I got a prompt detailed helpful reply.
