the help of Kiplinger Taxcut tech support, finally found out how to get that recent update. You're not allowed to update when connecting to the internet over a "network" connection. - Those of us connecting from a home network (using a cable modem, for example), have to dust off and hook up the old 56k dial-up modem, and connect to the internet that way, instead. Then download the 6.8Mb upgrade file. Once I did that, I was finally able to download and install the upgrade.
