is NOT obsolete. It is required on all Macs now, even non-MP Macs. If you remove it, apps that are MP-aware like iTunes may malfunction even on a non-MP machine. Some machines also will not wake from sleep if you remove the folder. http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n25048

installed with no problems on my G4 400. I used the automatic update. I have noticed some better proformamce in Photoshop and other apps
