VideoLink Pro CommentarySmith Micro is rotten, has no respect for its clients and no dignity - Version: 1.2, 9/27/2003 03:26AM PST

I bought version 1 in 2001. At that time they didn't supplied me with a S/N because there was none necessary for installing the program. Now I have to upgrade because otherwise I can't connect to people running Windows. The 1.2 updater requires a S/N. I asked Smith Micro to send me the S/N I ought to have since I regularly and legally bought their software two years ago. They refused!!! They said I have misplaced it...
<angry>Why should I pay another $59.95 for software I already bought?</angry>
Go and tell everyone you know that Smith Micro is a rotten company with no respect for its clients and no dignity! I only wish a concurrent will appear so that I can use somebody else's product on MacOS 9 to connect via H.323, so that I don't need those b.....s anymore. In 17 years of working on the Macintosh this is the first time a company treats me like that!

VideoLink Pro ReviewI don't know… - Version: 1.2, 11/16/2002 12:17AM PST

anything about the full version, but the demo is the most stunning example of poorly written software I have ever seen. Typing is broken in the "New Connection" window, and the Favourites window is invisible, so it is impossibly hard to open a connection of any sort. Even something as trivial as deleting an existing favourite creates a random garbage-character entry in its place. It's called QA. Look into it.
