FaxReady is an XTensions module for QuarkXPress that optimizes document outputs for clear and legible fax transmission, suppressing unnecessary colors, shades, blends or pictures, but retaining all the essential file information and structure. This XTensions solution can also create an electronic label on the cover page with the sender’s name and the recipient’s, along with the date and number of pages.
We have all received at one point or another a fax of a complex QuarkXPress page and experienced frustration trying to decipher text hidden in huge black backgrounds. FaxReady minimizes shaded areas that cause these problems, producing outputs that are not only completely readable by the person receiving the fax, but transmit even faster, saving time and phone costs.
When combined with the standard output features of QuarkXPress, FaxReady can be used for more than just faxing. Consider for example creating a catalog with images and type and being interested in suppressing all the text, and outputting only the images for color approval. On the other hand, proofreaders usually want to see only the type, without colors, backgrounds or pictures. FaxReady can create these and other special outputs quickly and easily.
Consistent with Badia Software’s philosophy of tight integration with QuarkXPress, FaxReady does not add any floating palette or menu entry. It simply expands the Print dialog to include a new tab containing additional output settings. For the majority of the non-faxable outputs, FaxReady will reside “silently” without interfering in any way with the regular printing session. If a faxable output is desired, the user just needs to add a couple of clicks.
Fixed problem of an occasional crash when creating a faxable output.
