under MacOS X. No updates since year 2000. I don't recommend to buy it unless Adaptec releases a driver for X.

Under Windows 2000, only one SCSI device is supported (this limitation will be fixed in a Web release that is scheduled to be posted by the time the product ships). * Under Mac OS, only one SCSI device is supported after SEVERAL months they NEVER upgrade the driver, in PERFECT Adaptec style. I suggest to buy stuff from companies much more reliable like ATTO.

see why someone would rate a product based upon the hardware spec limitations. If you buy thing thinking you are going to drive a 16x CDRW, you are delusional. As far as SCSI goes, this device emulates it perfectly for my uses. It works with my various scanners, my old mid-90s SCSI camera, CDRoms and external hard disks. Bravo, Adaptec. It may be slow, but it is simple, and it works.
