QK since the inception of that product, and continue to use it on my iMac; but, for some unknown reason, it will not function on my PB G3 (bronze). It loads, but it will not activate in spite of everything I have done.

the camp of all the five star reviews. I too have used Quickeys for a number of years and find it indespensible. It is a fully integrated part of my daily computing. However, this upgrade is pretty vaguely described and fairly high priced. So was the last upgrade which, for me, only made the program compatible with 8.6 and cleaned up the interface. Version 5 claims to improve a few functions and add others, none of which seem all that exciting to me. The improvements certainly don't break dramatic new ground. The claim of "many more new features" doesn't ring true, only because a software company rolling out an update with 'many' changes will typically blow their horn real loud. Bottom line: if you don't own the program, get it --it's great. But if you do, is there really a reason to upgrade, especially with OS X on the way? I don't think so.
