Product Description:

The simple and elegant Carracho Client enables you to use the services provided by a Carracho Server. Once connected to a server, you can meet new friends in chat rooms, discuss ideas in newsgroups and simultaneously download the latest updates for software without switching between different applications. All useful features you know from IRC, FTP and Usenet programs like multi-threaded news, real-time conferences, moderated chat rooms, drag-n-drop file upload/download etc. are integrated. Additionally Carracho Client allows you to resume downloads, send private personal messages and access all functions needed by server administrators from a single window. Carracho's easy-to-use interface will make you to a power user within minutes.

What's new in this version:

  • New splash screen and new banner (Thanks to Arlo)
  • You can now choose between all fonts installed in your system when writing a threadednews posting and an agreement
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash in certain situations (especially if a resume download/upload window opens)
  • Fixed a cosmetic bug that could draw the status of a file transfer in a save dialog box
  • New network engine now properly supports the SOCKS 4 protocol (set your SOCKS server in Internet Preferences/System Preferences)
  • Added support for automatic retry of download/uploads if a network error occurs
  • FIxed a bug that prevents you from starting the client when you do not have a DNS server in your network settings or you are not connected to the Internet
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the client to crash on MacOS 8.x systems
  • Client now requires at least MacOS 8.6 installed, support for earlier systems has been discontinued
  • Client now automatically shows the flat news of a server when the connection has been established and the news window is open
  • Reloading the server list should no longer crash the application

Carracho has been dead for over 5 years. Time to move on guys. It was nice while it lasted, but these days, the action is on Bittorrent and Gnutella2.

Selfinflicted Drama
Hmm, where is the progress?
The cocoa version is incomplete and worthless when you own a server and feedback from the deflopper is something close to an 8th world wonder.

time to move on to alternatives for i'm pretty sick of the bugs that keep popping up and the lack of new fuetures.
