to use this scanner - a "low memory" indicator aborts my scan, and I have plenty of ram allocated to both Photoshop and the scanning application (150MB for ps, 70MB for the scanning software). any advice, anyone?

release this software Minolta? It's basic function - to scan images - is seriously flawed! It applies automatic exposure and colour correction to each image when making the INDEX images! This means you have to counter correct EVERY image in the PREVIEW phase... This workes fairly well on images with good colour- and contrast range. On "difficult" images (in my case low contrast, low saturation) the software automaticly added massive amounts of colour and lowered the exposure (the negative was of course correctly exposed in my camera). The result was an image that could not be corrected to produce an acceptable scan. Amazing! Im sorry to say this: buy the scanner but use third party scanning software. //Fredrik Annell

must be on Minolta's payroll or he is a vegetable. The software is not very good, they need to come up with something better. My scans originate far too dark. The preview is unbearably slow and even though the preview appears on the screen you can't do anything until the hardware snails the film holder back to its original position (easily a background operation). Boooo!
