to edit a 94 gig QuickTime version of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra. I was up all night working on it, but I'm satisfied with the result.

is now much improved, but its many useful features are not always immediately apparent. It provides a good environment for exploring how a skilled human performer must intervene to make great works of notated music come alive. Some tradeoffs have been made to improve speed and accuracy; e.g. in some cases one can only edit one "voice" at a time. But if you are only looking for a quick way to convert your musical doodles into something resembling normal notation, you are missing the point of this fascinating creative playground.

Assistant can do more than Virtual Composer. And of course you need to be a rocket scientist to figure how to operate it. And of course your opinion is as credible as your posting handle.
