Still prefer Keith Turner's CATFINDER - Version: 3.1.1, 7/22/2003 03:20AM PST

Tried this, and it's better than CD FINDER, but I still prefer Keith Turner's superb (but long in the tooth) CATFINDER. Simple, quick, elegant, Cheap.

another catalogger. Too many already. I wish there was one standard format in stead of everybody using a different tool.

how to quit a program before writing a negative review, and read the about document. The thing with MacOS look & feel is that you DON'T have to read the documentation to quit an application. command-Q should ALWAYS do the same thing, no matter which applicatoin you're using. /jonte, downloading this app now...

sounds like your request should be made to the author. It's not necessarily a design flaw but a missing feature. Suggest a way of fixing the problem. Most shareware/freeware authors are more than happy to accept and act on such good suggestions. OTOH, it wouldn't take much effort to temporarily rename the folder just before backing it up and then back again. You could even use AppleScript to automate the process.

great program with a fundimental design flaw. All my backup CD's have the same name since they're backups of the same folder. I catalog these backups by date. They scan in fine and catalog well, but a "find" will locate the necessary file properly, but I can't determine which disk it's on. Without unique names for *each* of your disks you're hosed. A simple disk heirarchy OR the ability to change the name of the scanned volume (simply to add the date) would solve it.
Very elegant, very…

using this program for several versions now and find it to be a great asset. I had so many CDs and trying to find which disk what was on was a nightmare. It would take so long to find things it was easier to redownload it from the internet. With DiskCatalogMaker, it is very easy to find where you have that update to something or which clipart disk had what clip. A true blessing for me and just the price I could afford. Honestly, I guess I will donate something as I feel this program has great value.

I had no trouble either loading or using DiskCatalogMaker2.4.1 on my B&W G3, OS 9.1. After a bit more study and comparison, I might add another review, but I'm pleased so far.
