Product Description:

Think your vocabulary doesn't suck? You have three minutes to prove it! Boogle tosses you a grid of twenty-five random letters and it's your job to create as many words, from adjacent letters, as you can before the timer goes off. Statistically speaking, Boogle is packed with features, including the BRI: the ultimate way to prove your lexical superiority! Sure, Boogle is fully Appearance-savvy, but you can also use custom Themes to improve the look of your game screen. Best of all, you can create your own full color Themes in any graphics program and share them with other players!

What's new in this version:

  • Total rewrite of all code for increased speed and stability
  • Added a requested pause function which halts the timer and obscures the board to prevent cheating
  • Added a requested rotate feature: game grids may now be freely rotated clockwise to view from all sides
  • Removed initial startup screen for registered users: another requested feature
  • Removed multiple games: nobody used them and supporting them prevented easyintegration of new features
  • Tweaked letter selection algorithms to fix a few distribution problems
  • Combined the Statistics and Score History windows: all statistics are viewableat once
  • Added a new custom Theme, Panellite, by Ann Lindsay
  • Removed some Themes, by authors who had more than one, to make distribution package smaller
  • Started Boogle Theme Archive to store extra Themes online
  • Recompiled with the final release of REALbasic 2.1

I had earlier complained about Boogle, primarily because there are lots of common words not in the dictionary. Otherwise, it is fun to play; and this from someone who does not generally play computer games. Well, not only did they put in a better dictionary...make that a great dictionary, but they show you "missed words". While many of them as esoteric, many are not. I couldn't believe all the words I missed. I'm sure that this will make me a better player in time. Could not find a flaw & highly recommend it.

a lot of common words (like "dry") aren't recognized. I keep writing to the authors when I run across one & get no response. I even wrote to ask if they will add the words I've been submitting & they didn't answer. Loses two points cause of this.
