Product Description:

Valentina application is scriptable ultra fast desktop DBMS. It provides the ability to develop database structure, browse and edit records, do search and sorting, import and export, dump and diagnose of database. It supports AppleScript that allows you to use it on the WEB.

Valentina is an extremely fast and powerful cross-platform, cross-application, Object-Relational SQL database. It executes operations in hundreds and sometimes 1000 times faster than other databases. Valentina has all types of fields from Bit to BLOB and Picture (i.e. allows you easy create multi-media dbs). Valentina provides reach set of features: SQL, full text indexing, RegEx search, encryption, compression, and calculation fields. It can be used with a lot of APIs: C/C++, Java, COM, Director, REALbasic, PHP, Objective-C, AppleScript, xCards, WebSiphon.

import 15 million records into this database and it choked. I think it works bext for a small amount of records.

in practical database working I can say that it was very easy with Valentina to create DBs and some complex AppleScripts (e.g. a database generated Linklist for my website) within two days. Although Valentina is for me some kind of "rough" database app for which you have to create your "own apps", it seems to be a very good app to go/come into databases without paying several hundreds of dollars.
