up Preferences. There will always be problems, even using the Finder to copy a whole folder of preferences. I've tried to copy the System folder (just using the Finder to drag the System folder to another disk) and it sometimes fails, usually when copying a preference. I guess it's because the system writes to the preference files at unexprected moments.

Good tool, well explained. It'd be taken wrong if you did add "Warning, requires more than ONE thought and ONE button-click." I hope the VT staff clears this review page and allows a fresh start, the app and author don't deserve this sort of nonsense, eh?

publicly thank John Rethorst for his quick response and help! I was able to do all my backup (except Preferences for some unknown reason). To "edit", such as deleting an item from the backup list,I did CMD+CLICK to "deselect",as John advised, and then the app. backed up only the rest that were still highlighted. So,I give it a 4-STAR since I still can't use the Main Menu to edit.

only "edit" my backup list(s),I most likely would give this a 5-STAR. Even after I made sure to download/install the four different items called for, however, all I can do is "add" to my list; I can't delete any! The FILE and EDIT in the Main menu are "greyed" out--not available.

any program offered here for review must stand the scrutiny of ADVANCED-INTERMEDIATE-NOVICE reviews. The authors must be willing to hear that scrutiny and not take offense. The audiance is only trying to tell the software author of our experiences and feelings. We are not trying to downgrade good freeware or shareware programs. Programmers have their mindset and users (advanced-intermediate-novice) have theirs. The money is in understanding the needs of the users. (We think this is great software but please advertise correctly and make sure the download connections can be connected properly.

meant free of thought, not just free of cost. Nobody warned me that this requires AppleScript and uses Akua Sweets, and the Internet was slow when I clicked on one of the three links provided in the documentation to get that! I insist that you send the software authors to my home IMMEDIATELY to install everything for me. I've left the key under the doormat, and if you haven't taken care of everything by the time I get back you'll hear from me again. Post a commentAlert Admin

to find out (after downloading this program) that we needed to also download a script -- this was not advertised up front. Also, we were not able to download the needed script and kept receiving CONNECTION ERRORS. So....against that, this is rated poorly because it is not NOVICE FRIENDLY. (If a program is not advertised up front that additional stuff is needed and one cannot connect to that additional stuff, then the NOVICE is not likely to waste time.)
