I send & receive faxes everyday with this software. The price is right, my faxes are more secure in a busy office environment (no snooping eyes) and I can view my faxes on the road. I have now set up 3 offices with efax, and replaced our old HP landline faxes.

eFax Free is free (and the system is reliable) but if the number of inbound fax pages exceed the monthly limit (read their fine print) your account will be terminated with immediate effect. You'll get a rather blunt email telling you so, inviting you to apply for a pay-for account. The email wording could have been more polite but the tone was enough for me to abandon it for a lower cost but effective alternative (maxemail) since my fax traffic volume doesn't warrant the cost of the full eFax pay-for service.

I've used eFax Plus for three years, on OS9 and X, and it's been flawless.

The software works okay and I appreciate the Mac support, but on OSX Preview works flawlessly for reading received faxes, and you can send via eFax by simply attaching a PDF or Word doc to an email (Mail, Gyaz, Thunderbird have all worked for me) so I don't know that special software will be something anybody needs.
