Blizzard StarCraft ReviewThis is why Blizzard is still the best - Version: 1.16.1, 8/30/2009 07:38PM PST

It's perfect on an Intel iMac and a G4 iBook. Thanks, Blizzard, for hanging on to a good thing.

Also, I followed John's advice, all's well:

"Put the "Brood War Archive" file (or the Starcraft Archive" file if you don't own the Brood War expansion) from the CD into the Starcraft Files folder (which is inside the Starcraft Folder), not the Starcraft Folder."

Blizzard StarCraft CommentaryWould Buy again if Blizzard ported them to the Intel CPU - Version: 1.15.2, 1/17/2008 12:00AM PST

I had both the Starcraft and Warcraft games on my old PPC iMac. Sadly I had to give up on that computer and now run on an Intel based Mac. I would gladly buy these games again if they were ported to the Intel based Mac platform.

I am not into on-line multiplayer games, but ran the built-in scenarios and custom scenarios.

What a great thing not to have to load the disc, or in my case, disc image.
Thanks Blizzard

It really doesn't run on an Intel Mac? at all or super slow?

Blizzard StarCraft CommentaryIncorrect Instructions - Version: 1.15.2, 1/16/2008 12:00AM PST

Put the "Brood War Archive" file (or the Starcraft Archive" file if you don't own the Brood War expansion) from the CD into the Starcraft Files folder (which is inside the Starcraft Folder), not the Starcraft Folder.

Other than the incorrect instruction, this works great. I no longer need to use my CD to play the game.

Blizzard is owed a great deal of thanks for continuing to update these classic games and for their unparalleled Mac support.

Now if only they'd do the same Diablo II, and make a Universal Binary for Warcraft II... <smile>

Blizzard StarCraft Commentary- Hmmm - - Version: 1.15, 6/20/2007 06:13AM PST

Hi,

Just wondering if this StarCraft v1.15 version also covers Brood War.

In the past, there's been updates for both, but this time StarCraft has been updated but Brood War is still at version 1.14.

Or am I misunderstanding, and this is actually a Universal Installer, that can be installed before Brood War is loaded to bring Brood War upto date ??

Any ideas ??
Thanks

Nothing would float my boat more than a native version of the map editor.

Please please!

I know the game from the earliest days of release. I played under OS 9 later on OS X. Even nowadays I play at least one game a day.

I hope to see a universal binary version of STARCRAFT! PLEASE....
I would even pay for it.

Blizzard StarCraft ReviewContinues to be excellent - Version: 1.13e, 9/13/2005 05:48AM PST

For what this game is (an overgrown chess set with unlimited potential for maps), it continues to be rock-solid. Particular cudos to Blizzard for continued maintenance long after the major profits have been made. Good form.
