post reviews on here seem to forget that every Mac user is not a "Power" user. I personally fall somewhere in the middle and can manage most of my hard drive without software like this. But there are novice users that don't want to learn every single aspect of the Mac, and would rather have software like this. I tried the demo, and this software would be really good for someone like that. It does what it says it it will do. I think it works well. Especially when you compare it to a piece of s*it like Spring Cleaning. Obviously you can do some damage to your system with ANY software like this, and need to be cautious....but does that mean it deserved 1 star reviews? This forum is supposed to help developers and people looking for software. Not post vulgarity, and "reviews" that help no one.

surprisingly easy to use. All of these automatic cleaning programs are dangerous (see Spring Cleaning comments), but with careful use of Chaos Master you can find duplicated files and other clutter more quickly and surely than with manual searches or even with File Buddy. But if you don't have it already, the shareware File Buddy is the essential utility. Next in importance to maintain a clean hard drive would be shareware Eradicator. While Chaos Master is a luxury item, it's a good one. I highly recommend trying the very functional demo. While it won't automate the chores, it will help you find wayward files and give you a good taste of the application at the same time. Bravo for the worthwhile demo.

installed it and followed it's suggestions for which files to delete and it hosed my Mac. I wasn't able to get back all the files that I needed but at least got some. I have since bought Spring Cleaning based on a freinds recommendation and have been very pleased. At least it didn'[t suggest I do something that would make me unhappy.
