What's new in this version:

Before installing these new drivers you'll need to uninstall the version that is installed from the CD. These WeeCam USB drivers are not interchangeable and will not work with any of the other Alaris QuickVideo capture devices.

As of July 2003 the Alaris site isn't even responding... can we say "take the money and run"? Pity, it was a cute little camera, but at the moment it's just taking up space. TANSTAAFL, I guess; so much for "free" stuff.

software/driver package for the Alaris WeeCam USB video cam, given out free as a promotional by Earthlink. With this version upgrade I was finally able to get the camera to function with my G4/450 (AGP) running OS 9.0.4. This is functionality/compatibility that should have been provided all along; Alaris was totally nonresponsive to my attempts to solicit help in getting the cam to work with the included software (the previous version). Likewise Earthlink. I don't consider the cam "free," in that the money I saved was more than offset by the time I wasted and the aggravation I experienced in trying to get it to work. But at least it does work now, so that's something, I suppose.
