WebPrint predictably and…

reliably caused the Finder to quit on my system when I clicked on the small button to expand the WebPrint display when it was already expanded. After I realized what that button was for, of course, I didn't click on it again while it was expanded, but at least on my rig (G3 233) it was an obvious bug. I also think that when it's open, WebPrint takes a lot of unnecessary real estate on the screen; the four buttons for expanding could have been reduced to two, placed in a single line, without losing any apparent important functionality. I just found it intrusive. While Net-Print lacks some of the functions of WebPrint, it's neatly out of the way, easy to access, and is extremely well behaved. Perhaps because it is so intrusive when it's open, I never got comfortable with it. Perhaps the next version will be a bit more Mac-like in it's appearance, organization and structure (and bug free-er).

WebPrint Plus, versions 3, 4, and 5, consecutively on several Macs with varying loads of extensions and background apps. I run patched and hacked system software and shaky beta shareware. I have weathered the good and the bad in both software quality and customer service. I have never experienced any notable bugs with WebPrint Plus. It does its job without complaint. OneClick (the control panel which allows WP, Simple Text Enhancer, and some other utilities to work) has some known incompatibilities, but if you work around them, it is a fine basis for many floating palette tools. MacEase products are pricier than some, but they are tried and true.

everything it says it is! I am a high school teacher who has recommended WebPrint Plus to my students. They like that it saves them time on research assignments, their parents like that it saves them paper and printer expenses, and I like that I save energy correcting all those papers that now have much less superfluous information in them.
