You really think you can rip people off with this little piece of crap. First, there are freeware CM plug ins out there (FinderPop, CMTools) that can do what your limited plug in does in addition to a dozen other features. And they are Freeware. Second, none of them require opening ResEdit in order to add file types. They all offer simple and elegant ways to do that; for example, by adding a dummy file with the desired type to a folder and that’s it. Even for the power user, changing the settings with ResEdit is still a boring and annoying task because it reflects the laziness of the programmer, to say the least. Mac users you see are usually creative people who don’t like to open init files and edit them like their PC friends. They just don’t want to be distracted with ResEdit but rather focus on doing their creative jobs. They don’t even mind some smart ass telling them: “If you don’t know what ResEdit is, you probably don’t need it”, simply because they really don’t need it. Go and download those plug ins I mentioned and try to learn from them how to be a mac programmer. Did I mention that they are freeware. Yup they are. So you shouldn’t have any problems.
This saves us…

a ton of time and requires a minimum of fuss. I prefer TypePopper because it's fast and easy - no additional dialogs or typing. And the self-contained configuration is way better if you have to manage a bunch of machines - just set up one copy to work to your needs, and then drop it onto all the machines on the network. Great stuff!
I love simple…
