Product Description:

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the Internet's one proven standard of shuttling files from one place to another. It's used to update web sites, download software from thousands of worldwide archives, send files to friends, and much, much more. There's just one small problem -- up until now, attempts to bring FTP to the Macintosh have been mediocre at best. Some programs are plain 80's, while others are awkward to use and limited in features. No more! Transmit makes MacOS FTP screamingly modern.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS Classic

stuff if the server is well-configured and not too busy and you don't care about dropped connections and don't need queuing. Try Hefty -- much more robust (but a little greater learning curve.)

saves your comments when you need to log in again, so mine were lost. Bottom line: Transmit is an orphan. Crash-prone and stall-happy (passive mode, Unix). It could *easily* be the best FTP client on the Mac if Panic cared about the $25 I sent them long ago.

Transmit a few months now. Went to it after Interarchy's v5 debacle. All I can say is that using it three to four times per week for website maintenance and other misc stuff works great for me. Glad I bought it, thanks Panic. oh,btw-just option (or is it shift, i forget right now) click the size for a date listing. RTFM, hehe.
