Product Description:

SimpleText Enhancer adds both a substantial list of new features and a Tool Bar to SimpleText while maintaining SimpleText's ease of use. In fact, some of the features included with SimpleText Enhancer aren't even available in most word processors and text editors. As a bonus, a free File Converter Utility is included with SimpleText Enhancer. By simply dragging a ReadMe file onto the converter, the user can convert a read-only file into editable text. This enables the user to copy, create a clippings file, print, or edit any part of a ReadMe document. The user may also use the File Converter to create their own ReadMe files.

What's new in this version:

Users can set their own keyboard shortcut for printing one copy of a file, completely bypassing the need to use the Mouse and/or to navigate a Print Dialog box
Additional text styles may be selected from the SimpleText Enhancer Tool Bars
SimpleText Enhancer's Tool Bars let users quickly move up or down through their documents, one page at a time
SimpleText Enhancer's Tool Bars include a button for quickly either viewing or hiding the contents of the Clipboard
SimpleText Enhancer allows users to instantly capitalize the first letter of each word in a text selection
SimpleText Enhancer allows users to quickly double space any lines that end with a single return character
SimpleText Enhancer will count the words in either a text selection or in the entire document
SimpleText Enhancer will count the characters in either a text selection or in the entire document
Both SimpleText Enhancer Tool Bars now contain two glossaries that users can customize
SimpleText Enhancer's Balloon Help has been updated and improved
SimpleText Enhancer's code has had additional enhancements made to it

exchange with Stephen Becker two weeks ago, I removed my previous posts for WebPrint Plus and Simple Text Enhancer, since he stated that my postings were not true and were a disservice to other Mac users. After giving it some serious thought and consideration, I am re-posting my opinion. The programs, at least on MY SYSTEM (G4/400 512Mb OS9.1), do not perform as they�re supposed to. According to Stephen, his software has no bugs (usually other shareware authors welcome this type of reports in order to improve their software or address possible incompatibilities with other applications, but that was not the case here. I have even told other authors the specifics of incompatibilities or problems in their software, and they have promptly and courteously replied, either with new versions of their software or suggestions that lead to the software performing better. In this case, I am left with two shareware programs that I cannot use, or can use in a very limited manner).

a "newby," I needed support and had my queries responded to with expertise and patience. I've now been using the program since its first release (including upgrades) and continue to find it efficient and bug free.
