Product Description:

Preps, the complete imposition solution, which electronically imposes PostScript, PDF, EPS, DCS, TIFF, and DeltaList source files into signatures, dramatically reduces job costs and turnaround time by eliminating the need for manual stripping. These imposed signatures can be output on any PostScript compatible device such as a digital press, imagesetter, platesetter, on-demand, or laser printer. Preps Pro offers support for multiple sections on a single press form, a significant advantage to users who work with split-web or large-format presses, and users with standard-size presses who want to optimize the length of a press run by combining deliveries.

What's new in this version:

  • Windows template names were limited to 31 characters. Based on feedback from customers, we have changed the limit to 50 characters in Preps 4.1.2.
  • Issue: When you print or export selected signatures in a job in Adobe¨ Job Ticket format, the entire job is exported instead of just the selected signatures. Resolution: Just the selected signatures are exported.
  • Issue: Preps generates an ALOAD error when a job contains PostScript¨ files generated from QuarkXPress¨ 5. Resolution: QuarkXPress 5 files are processed correctly.
  • Issue: Templates using the perfector or work-and-tumble work style for PDF jobs do not include the file data on the back of the layout. Resolution: PDF data is included as expected on both sides of a perfector or work-and-tumble layout.

Pre-press software deveolopers and especially the hardware developers are way behind. Ask any of them about OS X. 1/2 yrs before any kind of compatibility arrives.
