cannot be given five stars because it's "as good as" another weak and poorly implemented application. Would you give a Yugo five stars because it's at least as decent as a Gremlin? Rate it based on its individual performance, held to a decent average standard rather than an artificial construct that skews the actual rating. Don't make this product look better than it actually is.

Lousy video player. Doesn't support half the videos that Windoze users make with bizarre, esoteric codecs.

it 5 stars because it's as least as good as Realplayer and I use it just for internet radio and streaming video. Haven't had any problems but at the same time I use QuickTime Pro for any kind of light video editing.

Literally one of the very worst software apps ever "developed" for the Mac. Horrible! Tried this POS with OS 8.1, 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1, 9.2.2 on G3s and G4s... Allocated more RAM, nothing helps... just horrible!!!!

of #!!&*x! will vaporize previous versions of WMP so move old players to another drive or PGP them before installing if you want to keep them. Then move them back.

called Media Player can play only asf files. Call it ASF Player. Microsoft gets it's money only by robbing decent people using dirty tricks. Why use Mac? Buy our Windows, you will be able to play everything...

No playlist support, doesn't play half the files the Windows version can. Oh but that's ok... it has skin support so that makes everything better.

export audio or video tracks. Can't play most other file formats. Insists on starting up one's internet connection when opened. No Pro version available. What use is it?

work ok on our machines. Typical MS install - first it roots around in your closets and your file cabinets - searching every connected drive - before it'll hang a window curtain. But it's freeware and for us it works as advertised. For me a bigger question is, why am I wrestling with this at all? Why did I pay Apple for several consecutive upgrades to QuickTime Pro - that still won't open or import Windows Media Files? I love explaining to my Windoze counterparts how these graphics-intenisve, a/v powerhouse G4s, come with software that won't open 3/4 of the media files out there.
