Product Description:

Appearance Randomiser is a freeware Applescript Utility that randomly sets a theme, desktop picture (on up to 3 monitors), startup screen and sound set.

What's new in this version:

Improved error handling, Startup Screen folder no longer required to be in the same folder as Appearance Randomiser, improved DP listing (now can list more than one folder deep), improved DP randomisation, Log file will be written to the root of the HD if the Goodies folder cannot be located, rewrote parts of Read Me for clarity, various code optimisations, fixed a folder listing bug when using Applescript 1.7 (which caused AR not to work on Mac OS 9.2.2).

1.2 flawlessly on 2 different machines using OS 8.6, but 1.3 has odd problems, including not being able to migrate the old preferences and eliminating my self-created startup screen (I had to resuscitate it using Norton UnErase!)... It also seemed to work slower! Not seemingly dangerous, but I promptly went back to 1.2. THAT version, however, is very effective and fun for a visual-stimulus junkie like me; I have an alias in my startup items folder and use it as one of my modules in MacDim to change the background periodically when I'm idle too long. Neat stuff...
