Product Description:

MACAST is a Macintosh Audio Multimedia Player that plays a variety of sound formats.These include the popular .MP3 and .MP2 files. In addition, MACAST can play CD Audio, MP1 and Internet Streaming Audio, in the form of Shoutcast and Icecast. MACAST also allows you to enjoy the music through our two types of plugins, Visual and BLRs. MACAST is designed for PowerPC only.

What's new in this version:

Significant speed increase on loading and saving playlists.

Progress bars in progress dialogs.

Current track highlighting: MALT will "highlight" folders where current track is located.

New repeat modes - "Repeat One" and "Repeat Folder".

Extended demo period - now 30 days instead of 15.

All streaming URLs are added to a convinient location in a subfolder.

MACAST Lite intercepts opening certain file types in Finder - if you click on an mp3 even if it is not marked as MACAST Lite document, and MACAST Lite is active, it will be opened with MALT. Neat!

Fixed a bug causing sound artifacts in streaming playback.

Fixed some misc bugs related to streaming system.

Fixed a bug with "jumping" volume slider.

Fixed a bug with incorrect skin changes.

Some minor bugfixes.

use it when I have to do something processor-intensive (Audion for everything else). Runs well in the background, plays streams well, and the sound quality is pretty good.
