Logitech QuickCam Pro ReviewWell, they have… - Version: 2.1.3, 1/3/2003 08:24AM PST

spatch
version 5.01 of Macintosh software released on 06/07/2002, that supports QuickCam Pro 3000, 4000, and notebook, available here: http://www.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/quickcam/pro/mac/qcinstaller.hqx I refused to believe that they didn't have anythign newer since 1998, becuase they ahve made cameras since then. I believe this is a probelm with Version Tracker NOT Logitech. I do have a problem with my QuickCam Pro 3000 though, the sound doesn't work, and their webpage that talks about sound problems doesn't even mention the Macintosh: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm?page=support/products/document&CRID=307&contentid=4706&contentid2=5035&showalldocuments=0&countryid=19&languageid=1#nw Does anyone else have a problem with sound on their QuickCam 3000 in MacOS 9.1??? Thanks!

hardware. But for f*cks sakes, MAKE SOME BETTER MACINTOSH DRIVERS that do NOT crash, that DO what they're supposed to, and PLEASE OFFER SUPPORT FOR THESE PRODUCTS!!! I am disgusted with Logitech's software division. Clean up your act, or you will lose a customer for ever, and i'm sure a lot more will stop using logitech.

Logitech QuickCam Pro CommentaryThe sad part… - Version: 2.1.3, 8/10/2002 11:46AM PST

of all this is the history. QuickCams were once made by Connectix, who made their mark for years by making great Mac products. When they decided to focus only on software they sold their line to Logitech, who slowly migrated the QuickCams to the more profitable Windows base of users. Finding an affordable USB web cam with sound that will run under OS X is impossible. One hopes that Apple's strategy of filling market gaps (by creating things like the iPod) will extend to include the iCam (?) - a better designed, faster operating camera with superb, easy to use software. And Logitech, for their part, should have a nice, clear disclaimer on their homepage explaining exactly why they could care less about Mac users instead of having spurious menu links for Macintosh support that doesn't exist (or at least hasn't in the last three or four years).

lack of support for products is nothing new to the Mac or PC community. Download Nine-11 to fix your problems. Works fine on my G4 500 Dual http://www.akua.com/Software/Nine11/index.html

its disgusting that Logitech hasn't develoepd any further drivers for their product. It seems ironic for them to release a great product and then no support! I have a snow imac with OS 9.1...and the only answer is to install a dodgy third party product that crashes my comp! Besides, does anyone even read this bloody pages? Cos if anyone from Logitech does, I think I speak for all here - DO SOMETHING DAMN WELL ABOUT IT!
