Aurora Sky allows you to create realistic three-dimensional skies. This plug-in gives you a wide variety of special effects that are substantially more powerful and flexible than simple fractal clouds.
Create suns, stars, haze, volumetric light – anything you can imagine – in After Effects 5.x and Final Cut Pro 3.0. NOTE : Aurora does NOT currently work with Final Cut Pro 4.0. We are working with Apple to fix this, and will post notification when it happens.
Aurora takes advantage of the new 3D capabilities of After Effects. You can use texture and cloud shaping maps to create wildly custom skyscapes. And, Aurora gives you the option of truly volumetric 3D clouds (with a bit of a render hit) that let you create clouds like smoke and fog.
Aurora is great if you want to create skies and clouds in your AE or FCP composition, but don’t have the time, knowledge or tools to build them in a 3D program. It also keeps you safely tucked into AE’s production pipeline, so you don't deal with render or import issues.
We see Aurora as a practical and creative plug-in for landscape and traditional architects, game developers, web designers, CG artists, and basically anyone with a hankerin’ for gorgeous skies.
