All of TalaPhoto's basic features are free and available for your unrestricted use for forever.
Additionally TalaPhoto has some advanced features that will contain small watermarks until you register. These features are fully usable so you can see how TalaPhoto would work if you chose to register it.
But all the basic features are completely free, in any case.

My first impression was to immediately delete this product after the startup screen reported that TalaPhoto was going to insert a watermark over most any project generated unless I paid the registration fee -- not exactly my definition of freeware by a long shot.
But then I tried it and had a change of heart for the better. The dreaded "Watermark" is a bit of unobtrusive text on the lower edge of the photo image saying "Created by TalaPhoto" which I can live with until I decide to pay up.
It's a nicely designed progam that outputs quick prints, contact sheets , web gallerys and QuickTime movies of your photos. Intuitive image controls made it quick and easy work to tweak lighting, zoom, annotate and crop photos before publishing. Really quite neat and drop-dead easy to learn. Best of all, tweak each photo only once and you can use all 4 output options on the same photos without affecting the original shots. Stable under OS 9.2.2.
Priced a little steep at just under $20 for a registration that does not include upgrades. Pay $10 more and you get future upgrades too. Yes, I'm kind of a cheapskate.
