Product Description:

Data Backup is a powerful backup utility, with raw power, yet simple to use. Even a new computer user wonâ??t be intimidated by its long list of features. Backup to CD, removeable drive or network volume in just a few easy steps!

What's new in this version:

  • Data Backup will now auto-launch when a volume is inserted, if actions are programmed to trigger when volumes are mounted.
  • There is a new option in Incremental Backup programmed actions that allows you to save all files (not only those modified since the last backup). This makes it possible to run a first backup with all items, or to have multiple complete backups in dated folders.
  • There is a new option in Preferences allowing the copy (or not) of the owner, group and permissions of each file and folder to/from a server. When the option is disabled (default setting), the copied files/folders get the linked user as the owner.
  • There is a new option for immediate actions, to list/copy (or not) the ".DS_Store" files (containing the settings for each folder under OS X).
  • A copy of the settings is saved in the user's Preferences folder, in order to facilitate the preservation of programmed actions after an update (for example if the settings were not copied into the new folder).
  • Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

    • Mac OS Classic

    Additional Requirements:

    • Mac OS 8.6 - 9.x

not moved to OS X, 4 out of 5 Mac users have not yet, then note that Tri-Backup includes both the Classic and OS X versions of its application for the same price that ProSoft charge for each of their licensed versions of Tri-Backup which ProSoft calls 'Data Backup'. On the other hand, examination with the ResCompare utility of the most recent Classic versions of both shows lots of differences between them. In addition, ProSoft optionally include a Boot CD with the Classic Data Backup which Tri-Backup does not.
