this product? I'd consider it but $229 is HEFTY for an OS9 product. I sent them an email with questions and they didn't respond. I wanted to know if it was compatible with my voice modem and FaxSTF 6 in OS 9. This doesn't show strong sales support from the company. If somebody is using this version please tell me what you think and what modem you are using.

OSX support BUT, the computer I use to answer my phone is an old Beige G3 running 9.04 so I could become a customer EXCEPT for the following reasons. I used the long dead MacComCenter 3.0 (the recently dead Message Center Pro does not support Caller ID on my USRobotics modem). There is no crossgrade discount for SmithMicro users. PhonePro does not include Fax software and I fear the integration hassles with FaxSTF. The Webpage and PDF Manual with the Demo does not sell the product well. I want GRAPHIC examples of multimailbox answering systems AND detailed explanation how it can integrate with FaxSTF. I can not MESS with my business answering system in the blind and risk losing calls and then risk reinstalling my unsupported MacComCenter if Phone Pro has too many problems.

the reviewer with the moniker "Why Not." OS 9 is indeed dead. More importantly, telephony applications belong in a UNIX environment, as OS X has at the core.
