Pros can configure blackjack strategies for any player, set the game to an all computer player game and let it play by itself to test your favorite strategies. Progressive betting is supported, hard and soft hand strategies, insurance, surrender, split, double, even money, win/loss limits, the last two cards played, and other factors let you set detailed strategies for your computer players. The top 100 scores are saved and can be sorted by hands played, cumulative wins/losses, and other categories.

Blackjack Gold ReviewStill REALLY bad - Version: 1.0.9, 6/30/2003 06:59PM PST

DonSL777
Well, I really don't have much to add since my last review. I was hoping the latest version could have addressed a few of the issues which kept me from giving it a poor review last time. "Playability" is still awful, graphics are stuck somwhere back in 1986, and the cost for shareware is still waaaaaay too high. The only positive aspect I can find is that the algoritms of game play seem solid enough, but it's so frustrating trying to play a "testable" 100 hands that it was a real struggle for me to reach this conclusion.

Seek out a couple of the other blackjack games available for the Mac (just do a search on "Blackjack" from the top of your screen) or play any one of the gazillion flash/java versions available for free online. You'll very very very quickly see why this one is not worth the shareware fee (or half of it).

loaded with bugs. I bet $300 (let it ride) and hit Black Jack but the payout was only $3.50! Not only that the sounds are extremely annoying. Do not waste your money the fun level was ruined for me very quickly.

horrible. I don't know what product Dr. 5 was reviewing, but I strongly suspect ties to Gypsy King. Download it yourself and check it out. Graphics are terrible, interface is very NON-intuitive, and the sound effects are distracting at best, horrifically annoying at worst. $19.95 is about $19.90 too much. Oh, by the way, you have to pay EXTRA to download even more annoying sound effects or you're stuck with an advertisement in the middle of the table. That's okay, though... the cards are so small and poory rendered that you have to concentrate on squinting to see your hand, so you probably won't notice the ad.
