iCal calendar doesn't load - Version: 0.3m, 10/13/2006 08:00AM PST

I've been using this neat little app since February and have noticed that since upgrading to Mac OS 10.4.8 that I can't select an iCal Calendar in the Dates preference window. Has anyone else had this happen with the same OS? So now there's no way to sync dates unless I type them all in by hand. Oh joy...

unfortunately this seems to be a dead product... As a german user i both wrote an email to the developer and i wrote a message in the support forum about the problems with syncing data with non us characters in it... No response after weeks. Same problems are tracked as a bug in the sourceforge page, even no respinse from the developers. This COULD be the newton application of the year.. but without support my newton is just a game machine ,-((
NewtonWorks? - Version: 0.3k, 6/10/2003 10:09AM PST

The big, glaring hole in Newton <--> OSX connectivity at the moment seems to be NewtonWorks documents. Is there any chance of a NewtSync plugin to allow transferring of NewtonWorks documents? Is anybody out there working on one? That would make life much, much happier.

Unfortunately, no data are synchronized if your iCal or Address Book contains non-English expressions: ä, æ, ø...
They're trying to fix this in a future version. Then I'll pay happily.

on my Newton 130. Unfortunalety it didn't copied the birthdays to Address Book so I had to transfer them by hand.

coming out with utilities that will sync Contact/UTD databases to the Address Book and iCal, so you should then be able to sync the Newt with these.
Also, another thing… - Version: 0.3k, 2/27/2003 03:05PM PST

to think about- how about an option under syncing the clock, that lets the user SPECIFY which device they want the other device to sync their clocks to- such as, say, a person might have the correct time on their Newton, BUT, say their Mac's PRAM battery went dead and they groggily got on their Mac to sync their Newton (including the time), but forgot to uncheck syncing the clock in the prefs or didn't realize that the death of their PRAM battery sent their computer back into believing that it's 4:31 am on November 26th, 1969, when it's really 6pm on February 26th, 2003. Then, their Newton's time would be jacked up if they sync the time on accident. Just mentioning something to consider.
I just got…

my Keyspan serial adapter today. Of course, I had to do a test-drive with NewtSync, and it worked! I am so happy and pleased with your software. However, it would great if you could somehow implement the options of Apple's Newton Connection Utilities into this App (like, Use keyboard to type stuff in on the Newt, Backup, Restore, import, install package, and ESPECIALLY- EXPORT!!!) otherwise, I'd like to bring this to your attention- please set the system requirements for the newton, to Newton OS 2.X- because IT DOES WORK on Newton OS 2.0 (It did on my Newt!- an old MP 130). Leaving that at Newton OS 2.1 could give people the wrong impression that their older Newton OS 2.0 devices (such as the MP 120 or the MP 130) are not supportted by this app, which, in fact, they actually are. Otherwise, keep on chugging away at this app. It's great. I look forward to it having added features sometime in the future (so I dont have to boot in 9 just to use NCU to export something off my Newt without having it sync the entire thing!)
