Product Description:

Pop-Up Zapper is a shareware application for Mac that helps you by 'zapping' away those annoying pop-up windows when you surf the web. Zaps away most pop-up ads fast without you ever having to see them. Customize which web sites can have popups, such as banking, email sites, etc. Prevent popup windows from messing with the size of your new windows. Enable or disable Pop-Up Zapper Lite by pressing Command-Control-'x'. Enable or disable it using a menu, or disable the software for just one window via a Command-Control-'z'. Opt to play a sound when a pop-up is zapped. Speed up your browsing experience by not loading costly popup window ads. Free upgrade to Pop-Up Zapper for OS X once you upgrade to OS X (for IE only).

Version 2.04 Bug fix: Sometimes popups in the customized list could cause a crash because of a debugger call left in the code,Do not replace the custom data file if one exists already when installing.

No grief here - Version: 2.04, 12/3/2003 06:28AM PST

This version seems to run fine in OS8.6 with both IE5.1.7 and Netscape 7 (I know, I know…NS7 doesn't need it, but the majority of my work is done in IE). Definitely enhances the browsing experience by doing what it's claimed to do. It's easily disabled and re-enabled at any time I choose, and I can't attribute any problems to it. Some sites obviously don't work without the pops, so the first time it happens, I just turn it off myself and reload…easy as pie. Afterwards I add the site to the list of those for which Zapper automatically turns itself off. No reason for me not to give it 5 stars.

OS 9.2.2, G4 dual 800, IE 5.1.7. Installed 2.03, tested with the one pop-up window we have on our own site and PUZapper crashed! Good bye!

For those of you out there that do not know, the newer versions of Netscape 7 and Mozilla have a pop-up supressor built in that is so far superior to *any* pop-up killer you could buy. I guess maybe it's for users of older versions of Mozilla and Netscape? I don't know, using older versions is not only dangerious due to the cookie exploits they have fixed with the updates, but foolish as the new Mozilla and Netscape 7.02 are a real upgrade from the older counterparts...
