LogotypeMaker Lite ReviewFor graphics professionls… - Version: 1.2.9, 8/9/2002 04:27AM PST

(the targeted market), this is a rather cumbersome piece of software that really just slow you down. First, most graphic designers are already using one of the major font management programs (Extensis Suitcase, Adobe Type Manager,Alsoft MasterJuggler, or DiamondSoft Font Reserve). Second, Power On Software's ACTION WYSIWYG displays fonts "as is" IN most high-end design applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, etc.). The set-sorting feature is a great idea, but clumsy and needs to be able to work with a major font management application. Furthurmore, when I'm running several design apps, I don't need another one to bounce to (ACTION WYSIWYG is a control panel that works inside your apps). One useful feature also would be to browse INACTIVE fonts within an app and beable to activate them from there (I know that's asking alot). All in all, if you are already in professional graphic design, LogoTypeMaker (and Lite) is useless unless it can offer something new in the future. Could be a useful bit of freeware for beginners who have difficulty in remembering fonts. For the record, I am a graphic designer and am not affiliated in anyway with the aforementioned commercial software companies. - Kavenien
