Adobe Type Manager (ATM) Deluxe software lets you organize your Type 1 and TrueType fonts to suit the way you work. In seconds, you can activate only the fonts or font sets you need, and then deactivate them when you've finished. From adding fonts and creating custom sets to getting crisp, clean output from any printer, ATM Deluxe is packed with powerful features that make font management fast and easy and that leave you free to concentrate on your content.

What's new in this version:

You can no longer set application memory via ATM Deluxe preferences. To change the amount of memory used by ATM Deluxe, use Get Info in the Finder. Note that the ATM Font Cache is still set in ATM Deluxe Preferences.
The 'Ask before resolving font ID conflicts' checkbox has been removed from File>Preferences>Settings for consistency with Finder, which resolves font ID conflicts silently.
ATM Deluxe now includes on-line help.

- but here is what is specifically going on. After a LONG battle of tryign to figure out why machines were running VERY slow, apparantly atm 4.6.1 is conflicting with apple file sharing. the solution from adobe? "apple doens't support os9 anymore, so even though this is a known bug -we'll not be updating or fixing this". what's adobe's solution and reccomendation? "turn off file sharing or buy suitcase/font reserve". so there you have it...

use this update, especially with OS 9.2.2. It will cause major problems with your system as well as freezing/crashing/font problems with QuarkXPress 4.11. Stick with ATM Deluxe 4.6--it works fine.

excessively sensitive to font issues/damages and errors. Select all your fonts in atm, under tools, do a verify and delete all fonts damaged or even showing minor errors. Take special heed to errors in system fonts.
