Product Description:

This update places new firmware on the CD-RW drive installed on Power Macintosh G4 (QuickSilver). This update improves the CD-RW drive responsiveness after waking up from sleep in Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X. Apple recommends installing this update to ensure your CD-RW drive has the latest firmware even if you are not using Mac OS X.

but it came up with a -54 error- it says I don't have proper privileges to use this......I have a 733mhz Mac- a Quicksilver so what's the deal???!!!

have six 867s, all have CD-RW. They were all BTOs.

update is only for the QuickSilver G4's I think the update won't even work on your Cube. If your Cube eject's the CD/DVD on startup prob. a problem with USB products. Try removing them one at a time. If you use a iMate (USB --> ADB) connect it directly to your MAC or a hub
