all sub-folders) can be loaded into the ProtoFont font list from anywhere without dragging fonts into your System folder. Simply choose the Merge command and pick the folder. dznr's obsolete comment refers to an older version. Also, ProtoFont's focus is on spec sheets and sample text variations.

this app is it can only show you fonts that are active, so if you are counting on this as your main font utility, you'll still be dragging fonts in and out of the system folder (no OS X support here).
This app only…

does one thing, and it doesn't even do that so well. Costs too much -- $50, versus $90 for FontReserve, a full-featured font utility. No OS X support. Overall, simply not worth anyone's time, not even the developer's.
