Adobe PageMaker 7.0 software is the ideal page layout program for business, education, and small- and home-office professionals who want to create high-quality publications such as brochures and newsletters. Get started quickly with templates, graphics, and intuitive design tools; work productively across Adobe applications; and easily leverage existing content to create customized communications.

What's new in this version:

System:
  • PageMaker 7.0.1 no longer returns the error "The Application 'Adobe PageMaker 7.0' has unexpectedly quit, because an error of type 1,010 occurred" when launching on certain Mac OS systems.
  • PageMaker 6.0 files are now visible in the Open dialog box in PageMaker 7.0.1 for Mac OS.
Library files:
  • PageMaker 6.5 library files can now be opened in PageMaker 7.0.1 without returning an error.
Save for Service Provider:
  • PageMaker 7.0.1 does not shut down when the notes included in a package contain a large amount of text.
  • PageMaker 7.0.1 does not shut down when packaging documents that contain an image on a master page.
Export PDF:
  • PageMaker 7.0.1 files containing underlined TrueType text now retain the underlines when the file is exported to PDF.
  • The error message "Cannot find the AcrobatPPD. The plug-in requires the AcrobatPPD and is unable to continue" no longer occurs when exporting a PDF file from PageMaker 7.0.1 with "Display PPD name" selected in preferences.
Microsoft Word/RTF/Excel and text:
  • Styled text imports without adding additional characters in PageMaker 7.0.1.
  • Special characters now import correctly from Microsoft Word into PageMaker 7.0.1.
  • Soft returns in Microsoft Word files no longer display as hard returns in the story editor in PageMaker 7.0.1.
  • PageMaker 7.0.1 only imports the Microsoft Excel cells selected by the user during the initial import when the link is updated.
Printing:
  • When you print to an Adobe PostScript printer or export to Adobe PDF from Adobe PageMaker 7.0.1, the Euro character is no longer substituted with a bullet.

Purchased Pagemaker through University system. Incompatible on my 10.3.4. Spent hours with Adobe Technical Support, who finally said to dump all Microsoft programs and then try again! Trying to get refund (because of University purchase) essentially impossible...multiple calls, each of which ends with "You'll get an e-mail in 24-48 hours." RUN FAST from this worthless product!!!

I just installed the update 7.0.1 since the 7 kept on bombing all the time when i was trying to print. Had to reinstall the printer all the time.
Now this s-t update doesn't even work. It started so open up but then suddenly just quit.
Jippie!. Now i have to reinstall PageMaker 7 again and hope that this works anyway. Have to live with the crashes.

computer: G4 with 400 mhz (born in Dec-99) 1 gig RAM. I work in os 9 since i really hate os X. Has an old color Laser printer that normally works just fine with my stuff i am going to print. But with PM it crashes every now and then.

I have used PM since almost the birth of PM. Until this update i thought PM was a good layoutprogram to use - but now i may just start to think to go over to InDesign - even if it doesn't work that way i want.

A very big disappointment.
