Adobe PageMaker CommentaryWorthless! - Version: 7.0.1, 6/18/2004 03:26PM PST

Purchased Pagemaker through University system. Incompatible on my 10.3.4. Spent hours with Adobe Technical Support, who finally said to dump all Microsoft programs and then try again! Trying to get refund (because of University purchase) essentially impossible...multiple calls, each of which ends with "You'll get an e-mail in 24-48 hours." RUN FAST from this worthless product!!!

Adobe PageMaker CommentaryGRRRR - Version: 7.0.1, 6/8/2004 06:20AM PST

I just installed the update 7.0.1 since the 7 kept on bombing all the time when i was trying to print. Had to reinstall the printer all the time.
Now this s-t update doesn't even work. It started so open up but then suddenly just quit.
Jippie!. Now i have to reinstall PageMaker 7 again and hope that this works anyway. Have to live with the crashes.

computer: G4 with 400 mhz (born in Dec-99) 1 gig RAM. I work in os 9 since i really hate os X. Has an old color Laser printer that normally works just fine with my stuff i am going to print. But with PM it crashes every now and then.

I have used PM since almost the birth of PM. Until this update i thought PM was a good layoutprogram to use - but now i may just start to think to go over to InDesign - even if it doesn't work that way i want.

A very big disappointment.

most unstable program I have ever used. Guaranteed to crash. And now as new *features* to 7.0, you are no longer allowed to export a .ps file to distill later (like you can in 6.5). Companies that release new versions that TAKE AWAY important features should be shot. 7.0 is NO LONGER compatible with Action GoMac (crashes on startup). Adobe’s software has officially surpassed Microsoft in terms of bloat. I hate PageMaker.

It crashes randomly, it's interface is counter-intuitive, PDF generation was a total tack-on, Adobe's PageMaker support sucks, files corrupt easily, placed image previews SUCK, and it's "save-happy"!!!

consultant and we've been using PageMaker exclusivley for years in the the education market. As more schools are moving to OS X so too must PageMaker. I know Adobe wants InDesign to be the new standard but for now many schools don't want to make the move to learn a whole new program. Great application as always (though I personally liked the layout and ease of use in 6.5 better) but minus two stars for the lack of OSX support (Please adobe, it's beyond time!)

needs to be Carbonized. It's used by a lot of people in the education market, and if we are going to be thrust into OS X, then we need PageMaker available. When in OS X, launching Classic is like being told to walk in a minefield.
