standard font viewing utility. It offers a set of basic features which fulfill most of what is usually needed, but it also lacks some useful advanced features. One of the features it is lacking is the ability to display fonts which are not active on the System. This is a great feature which can be found in other utilities, specifically FontShowcase. Fonts are many times more easily acquired than gotten rid of and it is nice to be able to sort through a directory of fonts and decide which to keep and which to remove without having to quit all programs to add the fonts to the Fonts folder. Another aspect of the program which is lacking is the means of displaying the fonts. QuickFonts can only display fonts in one fashion while FontShowcase for example in addition to the main display offers several other means of display. One thing which I like about QuickFonts are the nice font lists it generates that can be printed and serve as a good reference when trying to find an appropriate font. Others programs offer similar features, but unlike other programs QuickFonts generates a very small list. With 195 active fonts and using the default settings (Sample text: The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. Font size: 12), the font list QuickFonts created was only three pages long. Overall QuickFonts is a pretty good program. It fulfills the basic requirements for a font viewing utility and I think it would suffice for many users needs. But I personally prefer FontShowcase .
a nice start.…

but pretty much useless as long as you cannot add fonts (by opening a path) that are not currently installed.
