WeatherMan Troubleshooting Report1.8.14 - .sit version is bad - Version: 1.8.14, 4/7/2005 10:20AM PST

If running OS9 (and possilby OSX) DO NOT use the .sit version. When I expanded with Stuffit it trashed the system suitcase folder in my system folder. Computer crashed and would not reboot. Fortunately Norton Disc Doctor found the error and I repaired from a boot disc. Tried again with the .hqx version and installed fine. Great program - 5 stars

Use the Product Info link to go to WeatherMan site. The .hqx version will expand; the .sit version does not. There is also an OS X version there.

I have used this program for years, and it's still the best.

WeatherMan Troubleshooting ReportCouldn't unstuff download. - Version: 1.8.8, 7/26/2004 03:52AM PST

Downloaded file 2.5M. Can't unstuff, get a dialog:

The file "WeatherMan.sit" doesnot appear to be compressed or encoded. The application "Stuffit Expander.app" might be able to open this file. Would you like to try opening the file using "Stuffit Expander.app". (Don't Try) (Try).

Clicking "Try" causes the dialog to reappear.

Am using Stuffit Standard 8.0.2 (StuffIt Expander 8.0.2 (Build 584)).

MacOS X 10.3.4
